I live in the San Diego area. Our airport is small, but an international airport and is rather busy. I wrote a message to each member or our city council and send it via their web page message utility. Most have an email address so sent it there. Then called each one. Below is that message. Please consider doing the same in your city or your nearest airport.
The air traffic controllers across the country have now missed their paychecks. Through no fault of their own. They still need to pay bills and put food on the table. Their services are critical to San Diego. They are critical to public safety. If they are not on the job then air transportation is somewhere between dangerous and completely shut down. Suggestion: The City of San Diego or some other local organization, might pass an ordinance of some type and loan those traffic controllers all or some portion of their paychecks until this government shutdown is over. Make that loan interest free. If San Diego does this, then maybe Governor Newsom and the State of California will do the same. Your action might have a huge effect.
Thank you,
