Restraints on AI artificial intelligence

There has been much talk about the dangers of AI. Some places write about an AI singularity with the possibility of AI taking over the world.  There is a relatively simple concept that might significantly mitigate the problem.  A relatively simple law.

Every product created or modified by any type of Artificial Intelligence must be marked as such.  All images must contain an embedded image that occupies no less than five percent of the total image.  It must be in the lower left of the image.  In images, in addition to the visible marking, the detailed information about all the AIs associated with the document may be kept in nonvisible parts of the image.  All documents, files, and any type of media created by or modified by AI must contain a declaration that the document was created or modified by AI.  The first page any such document must have the AI marking at the top and on every following  page.  Printed material must have a summary at the end.  Detailed information may be kept in text not normally displayed, but easily found by the average user.  In all electronics documents, to include images, the user shall be able to click in the AI notification to view the AI record.

This information must contain the following information:

The name and version of the AI that modified the image or document. The date of the creation or modification.  This includes the owner of the AI software and the IP address of the computer where the changes were made.  If an AI modifies a previously existing item it must provide a statement declaring what percentage of the document was changed, excluding the AI records.

The AI descriptions must contain a statement indicating that information presented by an AI system should not be relied upon for making decisions.  AI is known to not be reliable and all information must be manually checked by all users.

When an AI modifies an image or document created or modified by another AI, the original and all previous indicators of AI shall be retained, unmodified, and the latest modification shall be added to the list in chronological order.  It shall be illegal to not mark any created or modified document, or to remove or change any previous such marking.

All AI systems shall have this requirement embedded within them to the point that they cannot avoid this legal requirement.  The use of any AI system that does not comply with these laws is specifically in violation of these laws.

When any person or AI utility uses or activates any AI product, the user shall be notified that they are activating an utilizing an AI product.  They shall be able to immediately view the information about the AI product.

All violations of this law shall be subject to legal penalties, to include fines and possible incarceration, to be determined by those creating these laws.  The penalties shall be applicable to those using the AI, those creating the AI, those modifying or updating the AI.  It shall be applicable to any person making a copy of any such image or document.  It shall also apply to those own the AI at the time of the creation or modification.  Being a member of the board or a corporation does not remove or mitigate individuals of this responsibility.  Those who have the ability or authority to modify and AI and who violate this law may be forbidden from any activity that may modify any AI product in the future.  This penalty may extend for the life of the offender. There shall be no Statue of Limitations for these crimes.
